National Research Council claims that NASA is short on funds
NASA has already said it several times and now a report by the National Research Council has confirmed that the American space agency is seriously short on funds for their ongoing and future projects.
They are working on hundreds of projects, have to get the Space Shuttle ready for its next mission, complete the work on the international space station, and prepare the Space Shuttle replacement for future mission. The list is endless and funds are simply not enough.
The report also advised the Congress and the White House to “seriously examine the mismatch between the tasks assigned to NASA and the resources that the agency has been provided to accomplish themâ€.
Study Chairman Lennard A. Fisk said in a statement on their research: “The small missions of NASA have been the bedrock for advances in science and the pipeline for developing human capital and technology. When you make those cuts, you disrupt the pipeline.”
