AT&T to offer wireless broadband services in rural areas
US based telecom giant AT&T has now plans to offer wireless based broadband connectivity in rural areas of the United States where they cannot reach through traditional phone line services.
For this initiative, they have collaborated with WildBlue Communications Inc. to sell satellite broadband under its own brand. The service would launch this month itself and the company would be expanding it slowly to more regions.
Interestingly, the services provided using this technology would prove to be more expensive for the end customers. They are offering services starting from $50 a month for a download speed of 512 kilobits per second. Web users can get a download speed of 1.5 megabits per second for around USD 80 dollars a month.
WildBlue is based in Greenwood Village, Colorado and uses the satellite operated by BCE Inc., which also owns a majority of the company.

This is good and all, but you cannot play Xbox Live over satelite dude to latency. Also 60 bucks a month is a bit pricey for mediocre internet service.
