Toshiba showcases Qosmio G35-AV650 at E3

Toshiba announced their latest Qosmio notebook, the G35-AV650 at the ongoing E3 conference in Los Angeles. This would be the first model from the company to feature their next generation HD DVD drive.

Interestingly, the Japanese division of the company had already announced its version of the notebook in the company’s home market.

The Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV650 would cost around USD 3000 and is an enhanced version of the existing model G35-AV600 which costs around $2400. It comes with more graphics and processing power which increases the laptop’s screen resolution and high-definition output.

It would be powered by the Windows’ Media Center Edition operating system and would feature an Intel Core Duo T2500 2.0-GHz processor with 1GB of PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM; 200GB of Serial ATA-based hard disk storage and a 17-inch WUXGA display with 1920 by 1200 resolution. Video would be powered by an NVidia GeForce Go 7600 graphics with 256MB of discrete graphics memory.

Interestingly, the laptop also has an analog TV tuner, both PC Card and ExpressCard slots, and HDMI output at 1080i. the HD DVD drive coming with this notebook is an HD DVD-ROM and DVD SuperMulti drive supporting 1X HD DVD-ROM, 24X CD-ROM, and 8X DVD-ROM read speeds; and 16X CD-R, 10X CD-RW, 4X DVD-R/RW, 2X DVD+R double-layer, 4X DVD+RW, and 3X DVD-RM.
