‘24’ episodes coming on MySpace.com
More competition is in store for the popular Apple iTunes digital content store. Online social networking web service MySpace.com is expected to soon start offering episodes of Fox’s “24″ on sale.
This would help the portal turn itself into a business rivaling similar services powered by Google and Apple. Google sells videos on their Google Video Store and Apple is of course the dominating player in the market with its iTunes service.
A report in Wall Street Journal claims that the website would begin selling episodes of the show “24″ for $1.99 per episode from seasons one and five starting next week.
As a part of a promotional scheme, MySpace.com would also offer two free episodes of the show, which would be sponsored by Burger King Holdings. News Corporation, the owner of the MySpace.com portal is yet to confirm this story.
