Motorola and Bono to fight AIDS together
Rockstar Bono has the support of mobile phone maker Motorola and several service providers as he plans to launch a new red mobile phone in the UK. The aim of this project is to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to fight AIDS in Africa.
Motorola has specially designed a red colored version of their popular Motorola SLVR model for sale to UK consumers.
This phone would retail for 149-pound and would be usable on most of the mobile networks in the country. Motorola and retailers would be contributing 10 pounds from the sale of each phone into a global fund to fight AIDS and other diseases.
In addition, the mobile service providers would be donating 5 percent of the monthly phone bill of each consumer using the red MOTOSLVR phone to the fund. Ron Garriques, president of Motorola Mobile Devices said about this noble initiative: “I would be very disappointed if this did not generate hundreds of millions of dollars for the global fight to fight AIDS.â€
And this offer would probably also help Motorola garner some exciting market share in the European market!
