Creative suite against Apple might affect Creative more
Entertainment hardware maker Creative has just filed a lawsuit against iPod maker Apple claiming that they are infringing on one of their patents related to the user interface of their music players.
The company is asking for unspecified damages and that Apple stops selling iPod music devices in the market.
However, market analysts believe that such a move is going to affect Creative more in the longer run…
The instant result of this lawsuit is that Apple share prices are down while Creative has done phenomenally well in the market. However, this is expected to be temporary as the lawsuit would go on for a long time and would require a lot of efforts and action from both the companies.
Apple has the resources to spend on winning this lawsuit. They have a lot of stake. Creative on the other hand is struggling in the market as they posted massive losses in the recent quarter. And they cannot afford to spend much effort on this lawsuit, as they have to get back on track to become profitable again.
If the lawsuit continues for a long time and Apple keeps on delaying the result, it might perhaps even see the demise of the company, which has given us some fantastic products in the past.
Most web users have expressed their opinions that Creative should have instead focused on developing better and competitive products rather than to file a case against Apple. In fact, some of the users even claim that there is little similar in the user interfaces of Creative and Apple products.
