Tata Motors Rs. 1 Lakh car plant to make two lakh cars per annum
Tata Motors is all set to announce their upcoming project of the Rs. 1 lakh car, which would be based in West Bengal.
The company is expected to invest as much as Rs. 5000 crores in this plant which is expected to manufacture two lakh cars per annum.
Tata is planning to establish their base in Singur, West Bengal. They already have a plant in Pune with a capacity of 2.25 lakh unit plant which makes the Indica, Indigo and Safari.
They are expecting this project to be profitable soon as the overheads would be low. The report from the company said that an average of 1.2 shopfloor workers would roll out every car from the West Bengal plant.
The closest competitor of their car would be the cheapest model from the market leaders Maruti Suzuki namely Omni and Maruti 800.
Once the production begins, the company might use the Haldia port for exports to South East Asian countries.
