Now, Apple sues Creative Labs back
Makers of popular iPod music player Apple Computers have decided not to bow to the pressures put on them by Creative Labs. Creative just recently sued Apple claiming that they were infringing on one of their patents related to user interface in portable music players.
Now, Apple has sued Creative Labs back as they claim that the company is infringing on four of its patents for the display and interface of the hand-held digital players.
Apple filed this new lawsuit in a Wisconsin federal court on May 15. Interestingly, this was the same day Creative filed the lawsuit against them. Looks like they had an idea about the plans of their rivals and had prepared in advance.
Apple controls the bulk of the market for portable digital music players and this domination has resulted in a situation that Creative is making huge losses in the international markets. Market analysts believe that Creative is playing a losing battle as they are relying on lawsuits to get their competitor out of the market.
All these court cases would take a lot of steam out of Creative and the delays in the results would hurt them more than Apple who are profitable and in a good situation to defend themselves in the courts.
