KDDI Corp. collaborates with Google on mobile search
Japan’s second largest mobile service provider KDDI Corp. has collaborated with search engine giants Google. This collaboration would make it easier for users of their mobile service to conduct searches on the internet via “au” mobile phones.
This is the first such deal for the Japanese market. Google has gone into several similar collaborations with some of the biggest mobile makers around the world making it easier for the mobile users to conduct searches on Google.
The deal would also make it easier for the users to view content aimed not only at mobile phones but also at PCs through the new search service. This would help Google, as they would be able to make use of their text-based advertisements on a totally new medium in this country.
This news comes at a time when the competition in this market is due to become more intense as a latest government ruling would make it possible for consumers to change their service provider without changing their mobile numbers.
