China Mobile talking with Google for mobile search
Google might get a major boost in the Chinese market as they are currently in talks with China Mobile (Hong Kong) Ltd., China’s largest cell-phone carrier by subscribers.
The two companies are talking with each other on plans of launching a special Internet search engine for mobile services in China.
China Mobile is facing serious competition in their domestic markets and they want to expand their range of services to keep consumers hooked on to them.
Wang Jianzhou, chairman and chief executive of China Mobile (Hong Kong) said in a statement: “I recently met with Google’s CEO for the second time. And we both share the same idea: how to turn cell phones into a new kind of Internet search engine.â€
Not many details were revealed by the company but a potential deal could mean big boost for the China Mobile. Google has not yet commented on these rumors in the market.
