NTT DoCoMo to bring compatibility to their mobile phones
NTT DoCoMo is one of the leading mobile service providers in the Japanese market. And they have now said that they have plans to make all its models compatible with global standards so that the users can use them in more than 130 countries worldwide.
This would mean that the company would support the Global System for Mobile Communications format (GSM) in their mobile phones. The aim is to get all their mobile phones to support this standard within two years.
NTT DoCoMo has not officially commented on this rumor in the market.
This comes at a time when the Japanese market is preparing for a possible increase in competition. The Japanese government is planning to make it easier for mobile users to change their service providers without losing their existing mobile number.
