After Honda, Toyota considering another plant in the USA
Ford and General Motors might be finding it hard to sell vehicles in the American market, but Honda and Toyota are both feeling the need of establishing another manufacturing unit to meet the increasing demand from the competitive US market.
Toyota Motor has said in a statement that they might soon need another plant if demands for their vehicles keep up its current momentum. The company already has seven plants in the North American market.
Toyota Motor Corp. Vice Chairman Fujio Cho was talking with a small group of reporters when he reportedly said that a team in the U.S. and Japan is currently studying and collecting information on this issue. This team would figure out if the company needs another plant in this market and which vehicles could be developed in this new plant.
Honda has just confirmed their plans to setup another manufacturing base in Midwest in the US.
