Microsoft collaborates with infoUSA for business listing database
Software giants Microsoft have confirmed that they would be licensing infoUSA Inc.’s business listings database for their online services.
This database would help them enhance the quality of their online local search offerings. infoUSA has a database of more than 13.5 million U.S. businesses and this would now be made available through MSN Local Search and Windows Live Local Search.
The two companies however did not reveal the financial details of their agreement.
Justin Osmer, a senior product manager for Microsoft spoke about this new development and said that the infoUSA information will be added to 13 million listings from Microsoft’s current provider, Amacai. The process would take a couple of months and would help MSN offer more extensive services to the web users in America.
infoUSA on their part announced that they were acquiring Hackensack, which provides business and consumer databases and sales leads.
