Microsoft to invest big in South Korea
World’s largest software company Microsoft might be facing legal hassles with their Windows Operating System in South Korea but they have no plans to slow down in this market.
In fact, the latest incoming news is that the company has plans to invest a total of 60 million dollars in South Korea in the next three years.
This news was confirmed by the company chief Steve Ballmer. He was in Seoul to attend an IT forum and said in a statement his firm has set aside another 30 million dollars on top of 30 million dollars already earmarked for investment in research and development here.
Most of these investments would go to the Microsoft Innovation Center based here, which was established to develop new products and technologies.
Ballmer said: “Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at Microsoft. With the new ‘Innovative Korea,’ we’re collaborating with the nation’s leaders to support the creation of new ideas which is the key to Korea’s further competitiveness.”
