AMD collaborating with Lenovo and Hewlett Packard

AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) has said in a statement that they are expecting to improve their market share after they entered tie-ups with personal computer makers Lenovo Group Ltd and Hewlett Packard Inc.

The company is the second largest supplier of microprocessors in the PC market after Intel and is showing impressive gains in the server market. They recently achieved another major victory after Dell revealed their plans to use AMD chips in some of their server products.

Pan Xiaoming, an official at AMD China said in a statement: “The low price and advanced dual-core technology of products are helping us win more partners and market shares.” Impressively, more than 70 percent of HP’s personal computers sold in Chinese market are powered by AMD processors and Lenovo happens to be one of their biggest customers.

The company added that they are targeting achieving a 30 percent in the next one or two years.
