Honda Civic coming to India soon
As per incoming reports, Japanese automotive giant Honda is due to launch their super-sedan Honda Civic in the Indian market in the coming months.
A company representative said in a statement: “You may see the Civic in the next two to three months. The car will have a high localization content.â€
Honda already sells Honda City, Honda Accord and Honda CRV in India and has cornered a sizeable market share in India in the respective segments.
Honda Civic would be positioned between Honda City and Honda Accord and would take on existing players in the market including Toyota Corolla and Skoda Octavia.
The Indian version of the Honda Civic is expected to be powered by a 1.8-litre 140-bhp engine. Market analysts believe that the company would price it between Rs 10.5 lakh and Rs 13 lakh for the two variants.
Honda would be manufacturing Honda Civic at its plant in Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. They are aiming at selling 1000 units of Honda Civic in the market in the initial months.
Honda is also rumored to be developing plans to launch a small car in the Indian market to boost the numbers of vehicles they sell in the Indian market.
