Gartner says Motorola definitely needs a RAZR replacement

Motorola invented the first mobile phone. However, it is Nokia, which are the current market leader and perhaps the most recognized brand when it comes to cell phones.

Motorola made an impressive recovery in the market a couple of years back when they introduced their RAZR mobile phone in the market.

It was a smash hit in the American market and still sells in huge numbers around the world. The sleek design and the good looks have resulted in many copycats even from recognized brands like Samsung.

However, market analysts believe that the company has to come out with newer and more innovative products to keep the consumer interested.

Moto RAZR won’t remain hip for ever and none of the other new products from the company has the same appeal and brand value.

Gartner analyst Carolina Milanesi has said in a statement that the slim RAZR phone would run out of steam. She said: “Now that everyone else is going after slim, Motorola needs more form factors. They need something as good as a RAZR but not necessarily a RAZR.”

The company has launched newer products including the SLVR and the PEBL models. But none of them has excited the mobile users as much as the RAZR has.
