Nissan halt selling of 2006 Altimas and Sentras models in the market
Nissan North America has informed their dealers to stop selling 2006 four-cylinder Nissan Altimas and Sentra SE-Rs after they received reports of engine fires in these particular models.
The company added that these accidents have caused one minor injury and they are still investigating this case.
Nissan added that as many as 100,000 of the vehicles built between January and last month might have to be inspected for a problem.
They have already received 215 reports of the vehicles’ engines burning through their oil quickly. However, most of the affected cars were from the rental market.
The company said in a statement: “If not detected or addressed properly, the condition may lead to engine damage which could, in extreme cases, result in a risk of fire.â€
