NTT DoCoMo to make mobile searching easier for customers
NTT DoCoMo Inc. has said in a statement that it will be soon introducing improved search engine capabilities on their mobile phones to make it easier for their customers to surf the net on their mobile devices.
NTT DoCoMo President Masao Nakamura said that the technology is improving at such a pace that soon mobile users would be able to surf the net as easily as they surf it on their personal computers now.
He did not reveal much about their plans but said that both Yahoo! and Google could play a central role in these plans to make mobile searching easier for NTT DoCoMo customers.
Their rivals in the domestic market KDDI recently made big news when they collaborated with Google to offer similar services to their customers.
The Japanese market is in for a more intensive competition considering a government ruling would soon make it easy for customers to change their mobile service providers without changing the mobile phone number. This means that the mobile companies would have to stay ahead of the competition, as the customer won’t be stuck to using their services just to maintain his old number.
