Samsung develops way to display 3D images on mobile phones

South Korea based Samsung SDI continues to innovate upon mobile phone technologies. The company has just announced that they have developed a new technology to display three-dimensional images on mobile phones and other devices.

Samsung SDI claims that they are the first company to develop so-called active matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display panels, which are faster in displaying 3D images than existing liquid crystal displays (LCDs).

The company claims that their 4.3-inch AMOLED panel developed for the mobile platform guarantees “the world’s highest definition” in terms of 3D images.

They are further working on to develop similar solutions for mobile computers and television sets. Samsung SDI executive vice president Chung Ho-Kyoon spoke about this innovation: “Within the next 10 years, most flat-panel displays will adopt the 3D display technology.”
