NTT DoCoMo collaborates with Hutchison Telecom on i-mode mobile Web access service
Japan’s NTT DoCoMo Inc. has confirmed that they are entering a partnership with a unit of Hutchison Telecommunications International Ltd.
The two companies would be introducing the NTT DoCoMo’s i-mode mobile Web access service in Hong Kong and Macau.
Hutchison Telecom would be launching this service by the end of the year. NTT DoCoMo dominates the Japanese market with around 47 million subscribers to its i-mode service. This service enables the mobile users to send e-mail, chat, play games, download ring tones and access news and entertainment content.
NTT DoCoMo is already working with 13 other operators to provide this service in other markets around the world.
