Cingular Wireless to source mobile phones from Pantech Group
The biggest mobile service provider in the US market Cingular Wireless would soon start to source mobile phone instruments from South Korean mobile phone maker Pantech Group.
This deal is effective from this month itself and would add on to an existing number of mobile phone makers supplying phones to Cingular.
This deal related to GSM mobile instruments comes after Pantech Group started supplying phones to second-ranked U.S. operator Verizon Wireless in late 2005. Pantech is supplying CDMA technology based mobile phones to Verizon Wireless.
Pantech is also supplying CDMA phones to Sprint Nextel in the US market. The company aims to raise U.S. handset shipments to between 9.5 million to 10 million units in 2006.
