Apple might team up with Research in Motion
Peter Misek, an analyst with Canaccord Capital has speculated that makers of the popular iPod device can team up with the makers of Blackberry device. Apple might be talking with Research in Motion for a possible collaboration.
This speculation comes after he successfully predicted a collaboration between RIM and Intel and that came out to be true. RIM is indeed using Intel processors in newer Blackberry devices.
Peter is basing his latest theory on the simple fact that RIM and Apple both can compliment each other as they lack the technology, which the other company has. RIM would want to be part of the consumer market while Apple would want to get a share of the wireless data sector.
Apple has gone ahead with some unexpected collaborations like the recent one with Nike and we now have technologies powered by the products developed by these two companies.
Peter is guessing that Apple and RIM can jointly develop a new device. This can possibly lead to an Apple mobile phone (Apple iPhone anyone!) which combines the power of their iPod technology with RIM’s wireless technology. In return, RIM Blackberry can add the lethal capabilities of the Apple iPod music player.
