Apple forcing Intel to look ahead and innovate
Intel might be a big gainer with Apple as a client as the Mac maker is forcing the microprocessor market giant to put aside their complacency and innovate.
Anand Chandrasekher, senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s sales and marketing group said in a statement: “They push us to think about things that we may not always think about. We were hoping for that to happen and that certainly happened.â€
Apple is also said to be a major force behind the changing Intel’s processor roadmap. Since, Intel is the market leaders in the PC processor market; this would also benefit the PC market, as the company would bring out newer and faster processors.
One of the primary markets where Apple wants Intel to improve upon is the mobile processor segment. Notebooks are one of the biggest markets for Apple and Intel is now developing more efficient and low power consuming mobile processors.
