Sony planning to launch a digital SLR camera
Sony Corp has showcased their first digital SLR, which would help them compete effectively against market leaders Canon and Nikon.
Digital SLR market is one of the fastest growing markets in terms of sales and Sony would love to be a part of this revolution.
The company recently acquired the digital single-lens reflex assets of Konica Minolta Holdings and this helped their development program to launch their first digital SLR camera.
Sony is now aiming to capture as much as 10% of this segment within a year of the launch. The company is the second largest maker of digital cameras though most of their sales come from compact models. Canon is the preferred choice for professional photographers when it comes to expensive SLR cameras.
