General Motors has no plans to get rid of auto brands

General Motors are the world’s largest maker of automobiles. However, they are not in a very good position in their primary market United States. The sales are falling and they are facing worker problems.

The company is undergoing massive restructuring and is scheduled to close several manufacturing plants and layoff workforce.

This has led to investors in the company suggesting that the company should sell some of their non-profitable brands like Saab and Hummer and concentrating on profitable branches of the company.

However, the company Chairman and Chief Executive Rick Wagoner has clarified that they have no plans to drop any of its auto brands in the near future.

Japanese automakers are increasingly becoming more popular amongst the American auto consumer and it would take a lot of efforts from GM to regain its position in the market.
