iPods cooler than drinking beer?
A study released by Ridgewood, N.J.-based Student Monitor claims that the iconic Apple iPod music player has surpassed beer drinking as the most “in” thing among undergraduate college students.
As many as 73 percent, of 1,200 students surveyed said iPods were “in”. Apple iPod got more votes than messaging, going out for a round of beer and even downloading music off the internet!
The same study last year found just around 59 percent of students named the iPod as “inâ€. Beer took the top spot then but is now dethroned.
This year drinking beer and Facebook.com, a social networking Web site were tied on for the second place activity on the campus.
The last time Beer was toppled from the top spot was when internet was gaining popularity in the colleges and the students believed it to be the coolest activity to indulge in.
