Blackberry coming to Japan through NTT DoCoMo
NTT DoCoMo has announced that they would soon start to offer Research in Motion’s Blackberry wireless e-mail devices in the Japanese market.
This news comes after RIM announced the availability of Blackberry device in the Chinese market. They have collaborated with China Mobile for the launch in this highly competitive market.
RIM said that in Japan, the blackberry service would be offered to NTT DoCoMo’s corporate customers.
RIM co-chief executive Jim Balsillie said in a statement: “It’s a big market because there’s such a large corporate presence, both foreign multinationals in Japan and Japanese multinationals that operate abroad.â€
The products sold in this market will operate on both W-CDMA and GSM/GPRS networks and would be usable around the world for both voice and data transfer.
