Intel planning faster cuts in prices of processors
This would make a lot of Intel fans happy. The company has now announced that they are expecting to cut prices of new processors at a faster pace as new technology based chips would be arriving fast in the market in the coming years.
The increasing competition with AMD means that Intel would have to stay competitive and launch new products, which means that older chips would be sold at cheaper rates making them affordable for the normal PC users.
Intel would also gain price advantage thanks to its aggressive adoption of new manufacturing technologies. The company is working hard on clearing its inventories as some exciting new chips are planned for launch in the retail markets.
Intel spokesman Chuck Mulloy spoke on this new development: “We have a more aggressive product and manufacturing ramp, so those older Pentium products will move down faster. It’s not like we’re cutting prices for the sake of cutting prices.”
The company claims that the new chips from them would not only faster but would also consume less power which would result in low heat discharge and longer life of the hardware.
