Walt Disney launches mobile service for families with kids
Walt Disney Company has launched their own mobile service in the US market targeted at families with kids.
Disney Mobile has family plans, which allows the parents to set “allowances” of minutes for talking for their kids and even track their locations.
The company said in a release to the media: “Families have clearly told us that they have different needs than the average mobile phone user. We built a complete mobile experience that is specifically designed to meet their needs and is uniquely Disney from end-to-end. Disney Mobile will allow parents to manage their family’s phone use and help teach kids responsible use.”
George Grobar, general manager of Disney Mobile added that parents would have the power to dictate when telephones will be operable and would also get access to details on calls, messages, and Internet downloads. They can also block certain numbers from being called from these mobile handsets.
