Texas Instruments to unveil new manufacturing process to improve chip technology

Texas Instruments has said that they would be using a new manufacturing process, which would enable them to double the number of chips it produces on each silicon wafer.

This advancement would enable them to improve processing speed which cutting power consumption. This would help them to compete efficiently with rivals Intel Corp.

TI happens to be the biggest suppliers of mobile chips in the world and this new technology could lift device speeds by around 30 percent. In addition, the power consumption of these chips would fall by 40 percent.

This improved performance would also allow mobile users to run more simultaneous applications on their mobile phones.

Texas Instruments has claimed that they have developed what it believes to be the smallest 45-nm SRAM memory cell. It occupies only 0.24 square microns and is around 30 percent smaller than other 45-nm memory cell devices available in the market today.
