eBay starts a Wiki for new buyers and sellers

US auction website eBay has launched a Wiki with the aim of getting inputs from millions of users to help the new users on their network.

This Wiki would contain how-to guides for buying and selling online using the services provided by eBay.

Any registered member of the eBay network can contribute to this Wiki. The company announced this new initiative at the annual eBay Live conference in Las Vegas.

Joe Kraus, founder of JotSpot who developed this Wiki application for the company said in a statement: “It is a milestone in the coming of age of Wiki in terms of coming out of the land of the nerds to a more mainstream audience.”

The eBay Wiki would address regular questions like how best to deal with buyers in other countries, consummate deals in foreign currencies and how to deal with sales disputes. For new users of eBay, this might prove to be an excellent resource for information.
