Microsoft launches LifeCam VX-6000 and VX-3000

Software giants Microsoft are continuing to launch new hardware products to compliment their software offerings. They have now launched a new line of webcams, which makes it easier for the users to add visuals and sounds to online chats.

The two new products from the company are LifeCam VX-6000 and VX-3000 and they have been optimized for use with Windows Live Messenger service, which is still in beta testing phase. These two products feature a Live call button, which enable the users to connect with a buddy with a single click.

A LifeCam Dashboard in the Live Messenger application would let the users pan, tilt, and zoom the webcam through the PC screen. In addition, these two webcams also support the Microsoft MSN Spaces website as users can post high-definition LifeCam images taken from these cams directly on their blogs.

Unfortunately, these two cam products are Windows only and do not support the Linux and Mac OS. LifeCam VX-6000 is priced at $100 and has 5-megapixel resolution. VX-3000 is a 1.3 megapixel webcam and costs $50.
