More rumors on a potential iPod killer from Microsoft

Software giant Microsoft has this habit of entering all the possible fields and develops products most of which are often substandard. We have already heard some rumors on Microsoft developing a potential challenger to the Apple iPod player in the recent past and we now have more such news coming in.

Market rumors suggest that Robbie Bach, who headed the development of the Xbox video game business, is overseeing the development of this secret project, which is working on developing a rival music player for the company.

The company is also rumored to have already talked with the music industry and has demonstrated them prototypes of this player. Microsoft has of course denied any such possibility and called the rumor as speculation.

The company already collaborates with hardware makers around the world for their Windows Media platform and runs the MSN Music service, which competes with Apple iTunes.
