Social networking sites continue to dominate in the month of May
Yahoo! might be the internet’s most visited website but the competitors are emerging pretty regularly now. Social networking portals are becoming the talk of the town as sites like MySpace.com have shown Meteoric Rise in the recent times.
As per latest reports, the social-networking phenomenon MySpace.com surpassed 51 million unique visitors in May. Another major entry into the top listings is YouTube, which attracts millions of people to watch videos on the internet.
YouTube impressively doubled its traffic from April to 12.6 million visitors in May. The research group ComScore said that they see no reason why these social networking projects would stop growing in the recent future. Peter Daboll, president and chief executive of ComScore added: “The challenge for social networking sites will now be monetization and how advertisers will respond to the global marketing potential of these sites.â€
The five top social networking websites in the research were MySpace.com followed by Classmates.com, FaceBook.com, YouTube.com and MSN Spaces.
