Yahoo! revamp Bono’s one.org anti-poverty website
Internet industry giants Yahoo! have collaborated with rock superstar Bono and have totally revamped the latter’s anti-poverty online project One.org.
With Yahoo’s efforts, the One.org has turned into an online platform for community organizing. The new updated website went live on Friday and the company said that it took them several months to come out with the final result.
Meg Garlinghouse, head of the Yahoo for Good division said in a statement on this launch: “We are really proud of this one. It shows that you are part of a larger community and it isn’t just you raising your voice.”
This project was co-founded by U2 singer Bono and ‘One: The Campaign to Make Poverty History’ was started by a US coalition made up of more than two million people. Bill Gates is one of the supporters of this group.
The new updated website now includes features such as podcasts, blogs, maps and photos of the project related events.
