Google Gbuy might make it easier for people to use Adwords

No one except people in Google knows what their upcoming online payment system would do for the internet community. Most people look at it as a potentially eBay PayPal killer. However, the company might be doing something smarter than what we might be thinking.

Google is right when it says that there is no use to make an alternative for something, which already works well. They made Google Gmail because most of the online webmail services sucked. And they made Google Calendar because there were no decent online calendar offerings. Picasa was also perfect for Google as it gave Windows (and now Linux) users a commercial level image manager.

So, what can Google do with its speculated Gbuy service?

We think that it would be targeted at their own customers. Customers using Adwords and AdSense program. People earning money from AdSense might want to get the money in their Google Payment account rather than in their bank accounts. This can then be used for buying advertisement on Google Adwords.

In addition, Google might make it easier for users to accept payments from their online customers to get that money inside their Google Payment accounts. It can work as an alternative for PayPal but overall, the company might want to convert the large number of AdSense users to Adwords customers.

Not everyone is comfortable using his/her credit card over the internet. Let’s say, if a Blogger earns a couple of dollars through the AdSense running on his blog, Google Gbuy can potentially make it easier for him to use that money to advertise on other websites on the internet! Sounds like a great deal, which could benefit Google in the long run!

This is of course our speculation. We might be totally wrong with this. Nevertheless, if Google Gbuy is not a PayPal competitor, it is hard to imagine what else it can be!
