Revenues from mobile-based music services increasing rapidly
International Data Corp. has claimed that the market for music services on the mobile platform is growing rapidly. This also means that the companies involved in this market are making ever-increasing revenues and this figure could touch an impressive USD 1 Billion by the end of the current decade.
The research group has also predicted that the number of members for this service could touch an impressive 50 million in four years. This figure is phenomenal considering this market only emerged sometime last year with the launch of phones capable of playing and downloading music from the internet.
More interestingly, the research group has claimed that the mobile users would form around half of all customers purchasing and downloading music from the internet. And they could surpass the PC users by the end of the decade. Considering Apple is not serving the mobile audiences currently, this might be an interesting aspect of this industry to consider in the coming months.
