Yahoo! to challenge Google with Social Search features
Internet giants Yahoo! have revealed more plans on how they plan to counter the challenge provided by search engine giants Google.
The company said that they are hoping to harness its community of Internet users to compete efficiently with search rival Google.
Yahoo! plans to use its “social networking” sites to improve searches and provide added information to users. This enables the user community to provide inputs and added information, which can be shared with other users on the web site.
The company has recently acquired or launched services like Yahoo Answers, Del.icio.us, Flickr and MyWeb, which adds this social networking ability to their online services.
Yahoo! has already more or less integrated MyWeb in the search results for registered members and are working on tightly integrating Del.icio.us and Flickr with Yahoo! Search.
