Honda Civic Launch: Honda might setup another manufacturing base in India

Japanese auto major Honda has planned big investments for the Indian market where they are soon going to launch their fantastic Honda Civic model in the coming months.

Honda Civic is scheduled for launch on July 4 and the company is also planning to set up a Greenfield car-making facility in another state to enhance its production capabilities for further growth.

Honda is rumored to be studying various locations in the South and West India region for such a plant. Some senior officials from the company have visited Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and are due to visit Maharashtra.

A company source has been quoted as saying: “Discussions with various states are in the preliminary stages, with Honda officials collating information about the sites and sops that various states have to offer. Based on these information, Honda will finalize the location for new plant.”

Not much information is available on this rumor but it just might become the location of the company’s much talked about premium compact car. Honda needs a smaller car to take on the likes of Maruti and Hyundai and this could be their best seller for the Indian market.
