Digg.com expands to add more sections

Digg.com has become one of the most popular online news aggregation website on the net. The service had been concentrating on tech news till now. However, a new overhaul to the service adds new content to expand the focus of the website.

This new update to the Digg.com website should be up by June 26 and would continue to rely on the service’s users to determine the best stories in each of the categories covered.

Digg.com would now be adding new categories bringing content ranging from general news to video clips. They would be rated by the users and popular news stories would be highlighted on the site’s homepage.

Kevin Rose, Digg.com’s founder said in a statement on this upcoming update: “We are responding to requests from our subscribers to give them even greater control over the content-filtering process with the ability to digg in new content areas and apply the digg functionality to non-news areas, such as videos.”
