NBC to use YouTube to promote its television shows

NBC has said in a statement that they would be using YouTube.com to promote their television lineup. The two companies are entering a strategic partnership, which goes on to highlight the importance of internet technologies for traditional media companies.

This deal would see promos developed by NBC being showcased on the YouTube.com website, which has become hugely popular in the last couple of months.

The company also announced a contest for fans of “The Office” to create their own promotional videos, which might be highlighted on this video sharing service.

John Miller, chief marketing officer for the NBC Universal Television Group said in a statement: “The distinction between television and video is becoming murkier and murkier. Rather than putting our heads in the sand and saying this doesn’t exist, we’re trying to jump in and embrace it.”
