Ford to bring Volvo brand in India
Ford Motor has said that they are planning to bring Volvo branded cars in the Indian market this year.
The company said that they would begin selling these cars during the fourth quarter of this year. Ford plans to bring S80 and XC90 models from the Volvo brand.
The longer-term goal is to bring more models from their Volvo range which is known for its safety and reliability.
Ford added: “India is experiencing very favorable economic growth with low inflation and a stable currency. Total new car sales on the Indian market are expected to increase from 1 million cars per year to 1.6 million over the next few years. This gives us an excellent foundation for starting sales of Volvo cars on this market.”
Volvo is also entering the Chinese market and plans to setup three dealerships in India in 2006.
