Email spammers using images to fool anti-spam filters
I have noticed it myself. A lot of spam messages arriving in my mail are full of images and no text. This is because most spam filters rely on the text content in the mail to check if they are spam or not.
Images are hard to decipher, as the filters would need technology to read the content in them making it slower and harder to identify spam mails.
This further complicates the situation for companies and developers working on creating better and more effective spam filters for us the consumer.
Even worse is the fact that spammers keep on changing the original mail servers and the content of the images. All these factors further complicate the process of separating the scum mails from the good mails.
It seems email spam is not going to disappear in the short term after all.
