MTV to sell content on Apple iTunes
This one is interesting. MTV is working with Microsoft to run their URGE digital music store, which is being heavily promoted through Windows Media Player application.
And now MTV has announced that they are now selling more of its shows at Apple Computer’s iTunes digital store.
Interested web users can now purchase content from Viacom’s Spike TV, TV Land, MTV and Logo channels on Apple iTunes. These shows are available for sale for $1.99 per episode.
Viacom is already selling Comedy Central network’s South Park episodes on Apple iTunes. It would be interesting to see how this further develops into a broader relationship with Urge’s competitor.
