W-ZERO3: Sharp to counter Blackberry with new smartphone
Japanese tech giant Sharp has said that they are not worried about the upcoming launch of the Research in Motion’s Blackberry device in the country. The company also launched their new smartphone named W-ZERO3[es] in the market.
With this launch, Sharp would be hoping to further improve their market share in this market where they are expected to face more competition in the coming months.
Research in Motion is expected to launch their Blackberry device and service in Japan this coming autumn. This would bring new choices to the consumers in the country where they currently have limited number of smartphone options.
Sharp’s new device comes powered with the Microsoft’s mobile platform and contains 128 megabytes of flash memory. It enables the user to perform computing operations in addition to making and receiving calls.
Sharp would be selling this product in association with the mobile carrier Willcom Inc.
