Free Web Based RSS and ATOM News and Blog Feed Service Launched

A free RSS and ATOM web based feed service ( http://www.rssjam.com ), launched on July 2, 2006, provides a unique web page summarizing each of the user’s feeds and emails up to three updates a day. Users may access their summary page from any computer and receive emailed updates on any device including their Blackberry or other handheld device.

“Feed readers and other services introduce feature after feature and I always got tired of wading through the features just to get at the feeds I was interested in,” said Tyler Jensen, the creator of RssJam.com. “I just wanted a simple web site that would put together my feeds with the most recent stories at the top and email them to me a couple times a day. Nearly every blog, news, social networking and event driven web site provides at least one RSS or ATOM feed. There are many feed readers available to the public. Some are free, including the feed reader in the Firefox browser and the upcoming Internet Explorer 7. All of these feed readers have one thing in common. They are installed on the user’s computer. The user’s feeds are only available on that machine, which means when you go to another computer, travel, or use your Blackberry, your feeds do not follow you.
