Space Shuttle Discovery performing well
NASA and the astronauts on board have confirmed that the Space Shuttle Discovery is performing well and they are facing no noticeable problems with it. This is good news for the space agency, as problems during this mission would have led to the scrapping of the entire space shuttle program.
Astronaut Mark Kelly said in an interview from the Space Shuttle: “At this point we’re really satisfied. We haven’t had many problems with Discovery. We feel really good about the condition.”
This means that NASA can be proud of the fact that they have managed to fix most of the safety issues which caused the demise of the Columbia shuttle leading to the deaths of the entire crew onboard a couple of years back.
The space agency has worked hard for the last couple of years to improve the safety aspects of the shuttle as they still are a couple of years away from its replacement.
