Tata: Rs. 1 Lakh Car would roll out from 2-3 locations
Ratan Tata, chief of Tata Group has said in a statement that the company plans to launch their ambitious Rs. 1 lakh car from 2-3 locations. This would include West Bengal and Uttaranchal.
This compact car is part of the dream project of Ratan Tata to make cars affordable for the common man in the country. The car is expected to be out in the market in the next two years.
Tata said in a statement: “It will be in West Bengal, it will be in Uttaranchal. It will be manufactured from three-four places.â€
Tata Motors has already finalized a Rs 1,000 crore plant at Singur in West Bengal for the manufacture of this car aimed at the masses in India.
The company has also confirmed that they have already completed the styling and designing of the car and have begun testing in their plants.
Tata added on this project: “The styling and designing of the car have been completed and prototypes are being tested in the plant. It will be a rear engine, 4-5 seat, four-door car with about a 30 horsepower engine.â€
