Matsushita Electric to sell 103-inch plasma TVs starting next year

Technology is awesome and Matsushita Electric has now managed to develop something really incredible. The company is planning to start selling a 103-inch plasma TV from next year.

This is currently the world’s largest plasma television and as per information provided by the company, it measures 2.4 meters by 1.4 meters. It weighs an astounding 215 kg. They have not revealed the price of this gigantic display panel but it would of course be costly. Their 65-inch plasma TVs costs around a massive $7,500 in Japan.

Interestingly, the plasma panel used in the Matsushita TV is going to be just an inch larger than the Samsung’s largest panel still not commercially available. It looks like we would now see a size war in the plasma market with Matsushita and Samsung competing against each other.

Matsushita is however, the world’s largest player in this market and has competitors including Samsung and LG of South Korea.
